Because this isn't a conversation — it's a diagnosis. I've spent 16 years learning how to read structural problems in operating businesses. The $2,500 reflects the output: a written assessment that tells you exactly what's wrong and where to start. That's worth considerably more than the fee if the answer changes how you operate. And if it leads to an Architecture Intensive, the $2,500 applies toward the $25,000 — so the diagnostic is effectively free.
What if I already know what the problem is?
Then the diagnostic confirms it — or reveals that what you think is the problem is actually a symptom of something else. Most founders can name the pain. Very few have correctly identified the structural cause. That's the difference between fixing the right thing and rebuilding the same problem six months later in a different shape.
Is this a pitch for a larger engagement?
No. The diagnostic stands alone. I'll give you an honest recommendation at the end — including "nothing more needed" if that's accurate. I run a limited number of engagements per quarter and I only take clients I can actually help. If a deeper engagement isn't the right fit, I'll tell you that.
